Capturing our Future

Progress Marlborough is the Marlborough Regional Development Trust's regional development strategy for Marlborough.

Before producing this Progress Marlborough – capturing our future strategy, the Marlborough Regional Development Trust conducted an extensive public consultation to identify community concerns and issues. Download a copy of the Consultation analysis by clicking here.

The process took the form of an initial scoping exercise where a broad range of organisations were invited to identify the three most significant issues confronting Marlborough – from their perspective – along with the single greatest opportunity on offer to the region. Publication of a detailed discussion document and a series of “Propositions” followed. Organisations and members of the community responded by completing the “Propositions” form, attending the community forums in Seddon, Picton, Havelock and Blenheim, and in some instances responding directly in person or by phone. Broadband in Marlborough ...

Faster Internet and more choice are on the way for Marlborough residents - Richmond based broadband company The Pacific.Net was recently announced as the successful tenderer in the government's PROBE broadband project. Broadband is a term used to describe Internet connections that are very fast (typically greater than 2 MBs in both directions - about forty times faster than a normal dial-up connection), that are permanently connected and that are very reliable.

The ThePacific.net will start rolling out a fast wireless Internet infrastructure throughout Tasman, Nelson and Marlborough early in 2004. You can learn more about the Broadband Project here.
